Move One Relocations Insider | Romania Introduces Digital Platform for Foreign Worker Recruitment – Effective Upon Government Approval

Overview:

Romania has published a draft decision introducing WorkinRomania.gov.ro, a new digital platform designed to modernize and streamline the recruitment and immigration process for foreign workers. Once approved, the platform will provide employers with a single online portal to manage key immigration procedures electronically.

Key Changes

Employers will be able to register online, apply for work authorizations, submit work visa and residence permit applications, receive official documents electronically, and manage applications through one centralized platform.

The system will automatically verify information across multiple government databases, helping reduce paperwork, improve efficiency, and shorten processing times. It will also validate electronic signatures and ensure job offers comply with government-approved labour shortage requirements.

Important Notes

The platform will incorporate robust cybersecurity measures, including multi-factor authentication and data encryption. While employers may delegate access to authorized representatives, they remain responsible for the accuracy of all submitted information.

The proposal comes as Romania continues to experience strong demand for international talent, with the 2026 foreign worker quota set at approximately 90,000 workers.

At Move One, we remain committed to helping organizations navigate changing immigration regulations with expert guidance and comprehensive immigration, global mobility, and relocation solutions.
